Back to my summer essentials series, and this time I'm talking shorts. As with my previous post on sunglasses I have decided to dedicate this to one particular high street store - Topshop. Topshop have an amazing collection of shorts this season, with a huge variety to choose from. Here are some of my favourites!

Sometimes you just cant beat a summery stripe, and these high waisted shorts are a perfect example of that. Available in lots of different colours (the red and lilac are both gorgeous too) these will bring a ray of stripy sunshine to your summer wardrobe, brightening up a basic vest top or slouchy tee.
I wanted to include these 2 pairs of shorts as they show completely different sides of the dip dye trend that is so popular this spring/summer. The vibrant yellow to pink hued high waisted shorts are chic and perfect for holidays, paired with block coloured crop tops or clashing coloured silky vests. The denim version however adds just the right amount of grunge to the trend, perfect for festivals with lashings of fringing.

What's not to love about these gorgeous soft high waisted shorts? The neutral tone of grey makes them perfect with a huge variety of colours, especially this seasons hottest pastels, and high waisted styles are always flattering. They would be perfect to dress up for the evening, with candy coloured camis or a white leather bralet and towering pastel wedges. For £22, they're a steal that is sure to become your summer staple.

Last, but certainly not least, I couldn't do a post about summer shorts without including the ultimate sunshine must have — denim shorts. High waisted to hot pants in a variety of shades and colour washes, denim shorts go with everything and its well worth investing in a classic timeless pair that will last you year after year. Dressed up or down, denim shorts are your one way ticket to gorgeous summer dressing, so make the most of them whether you're sunning yourself abroad or frolicking in a festival field nearer home.

This honestly made me want to die a little. I miss my short shorts and I adore the stripy ones from topshop. High waisted is such a WIN and amazingly sexy. I hope you wear them for the both of us as there is no way in hell i'll squeeze into a pair <3
