Oscars 2013 - Who Wore What?
06:42
As I have said before, awards ceremonies can mean only one thing - a whole host of glamourous gowns to 'ooh' and 'aah' at. However, as always, there are unfortunately a few celebs who miss the mark when it comes to picking that winning gown. Here are some of my best and worst dressed from the Academy Awards 2013.

Jennifer Aniston in Valentino |
Jennifer Aniston is one of the few women that could wear a bin bag and make it look stylish, but there was just something about this gown that left me feeling slightly underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, she looks gorgeous as always, it just strikes me as a very safe choice. A beautiful dress on a beautiful woman, but the 'wow' factor is missing for me.

Halle Berry in Versace |
At first I wasn't completely sold on this dress, but the silhouette created by the gorgeous lines and detailing is undeniably beautiful. It fits her body well and is quite a bold statement in what can sometimes be an evening of very matchy-matchy gowns. Overall, Halle comes out on top for this bold glittering gown.

Olivia Munn in Marchesa |
As always with awards ceremonies, there were some serious flaws on the dress front. Unfortunately, Olivia Munn was one of the low points for me. I am usually an avid Marchesa fan, but this gown just misses the mark. The combination of the colour choice and tapestry style embroidery on the bodice have a dated feel, quite like a bad prom dress you'd find in your local bridal shop. There are some beautiful aspects, but the dress just isnt cohesive for me and therefore lacks that initial impact.

Kerry Waashington in Miu Miu |
Top marks to Kerry Washington for this gorgeous coral gown by Miu Miu. The colour is absolutely perfect on her, and the embellished bodice gives the perfect amount of sparkle for an evening of glamour. Simple accessories and hair leave Washington looking radiant and effortless. Bravo!

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture |
It has been impossible to read anything about the Oscars without Jennifer Lawrence being mentioned. Her incredibly Dior Couture gown was the highlight of many magazines and blogs Best Dressed charts, and it's hard to disagree with their rating. Fitted to below the hips and showcasing her enviable figure, this gown has just the right balance of elegance and drama. But then, what else do you expect from the masters at Dior.
