Tropical Takeover

Unfortunately, England is not exactly known for its tropical climate. However, due to the trend for gorgeous, vibrant tropical prints this summer our wardrobes have experienced an influx of sunshine - whats not to love about that?
Without fail, I am a monochrome girl at heart. Black in particular makes up a good 85% of my wardrobe, yet I have embraced this trend with open arms. Perhaps it is my desperation for sunny days, or the fact that wearing black constantly during the summer is a tad depressing, but either way I am loving the high street offerings that have appeared to satisfying my tropical cravings. Here are a few gems I found recently in the ASOS sale to get you started.

This Mango shift dress shows how to explore the softer side of this tropical trend, using darker muted tones in the graphic print to create a subtle alternative to the vibrant offerings seen elsewhere. Plus the classic round necked shift shape is timeless and incredibly wearable, making this well worth £24.
I thought I'd include this photo taken whilst in Tenerife recently to show off one of my favourite pre-holiday purchases, perfectly inkeeping with the tropical theme. This gorgeous bodycon dress is made of a thick neoprene style material, ensuring a clingy fit. The mirrored graphic print is full of punchy colours, and the aztec style black pattern down the centre creates great contrast. I wore it with chunky tan wedges whilst on holiday, but am also looking forward to experimenting with it now I'm back - I'm already thinking high tops and a denim jacket. One of my favourite things about this dress? It's a Primark special, bought for £5 in the sale. I feel particularly smug about this purchase, if you havent already guessed.
