The second stage of my summer essentials series is another must have item - sunglasses. I've decided to do this post a little differently; instead of showing you the best of the best from a range of high street stores, I'm dedicating this entire post to the amazing collection of sunglasses from ASOS. They literally stock every variety of sunglasses you can think of, from purse friendly styles to designer brands if you feel like spoiling yourself. Here are some of my favourites!

You can't go wrong with a retro wayfarer style, they are always my ultimate summer staple. Perfect for grungy festival looks with band tee's and levi shorts to adding that finishing touch to a gorgeous retro summer dress. Experiment with pops of bright colour or even patterns to make this timeless classic fit perfectly with your style.

Another classic shape is the aviator, something ASOS have in many different varieties. Oversized, gold, silver or mirrored there's an aviator to fit all of your summer needs. My personal favourie are these classic skinny gold rim shades, perfect for adding a touch of effortless hollywood glam to any outfit.

These funky mint round shades are a fun addition to a somewhat predictable sunglasses market. The gorgeous bright colour and unusual flat top shape are unique and bang on trend - adding a pop of individuality to your look. I know they might not be everyones cup of tea, but if you're brave enough to try them out I think it will definitely pay off.

Cat eye styles are another big trend for summer. Look for contrasting rims, high brow panels, coloured shades and patterned frames to make this look your own. Just make sure upturned cat eye corners are present in all examples to keep this retro glam appeal.
